Where Do the Nativities Come from?

This exhibit is an interfaith community effort. The nativities come from members of the communities of Northeastern Nevada. This exhibit could not exist without the willingness of many people to lend their nativities—many, precious family treasures—with the exhibit for all who come to the exhibit to enjoy.

A few of the nativities are the altar crèches from area churches, and some come from organizations.

You are invited to share your Nativity and Angels

You are invited to share your nativity with the exhibit. As an interfaith, community event, this is a standing, and open invitation. As our chairman says, "after all it is a nativity exhibit, and we need nativities."

This year we are also looking for Angels. You are invited to share any type of angel you have with the exhibit: Figurines, quilts, jewelry, tree toppers, paintings, drawings, etc.

If you would like to share your nativity or angel,
please bring your nativity (or nativities) to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building at 3001 N. Fifth Street on Wednesday, December 2, 2013, between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.

If you have a wall hanging / wall art that needs to be hung, please bring it in on Tuesday. This will give us the opportunity to get it hung before the before nativities and angels are set up on the display tables.

When you arrive, you will check-in your nativity and angel. Once you've checked-in, unpack and set up your nativity. Tablecloths will be on the tables, however you are welcome to bring any accessories that you normally use to display your nativity, such as doilies, runners, fabric, risers, and the like.

Please note that if your nativity has lights, electricity will not be available. Also, candles will not be able to be lit.

Pick up your nativity on Monday, December 7th, from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. Before taking your nativity home, you will need to check-out your nativitythis way we know you have your nativity.
